On March 01, 2024, an expanded Meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Academy, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan T.I. Espolov.
The meeting of the NAAS Presidium was attended by Honorary President of the NAAS, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kaliev G.A., members of the Presidium (8 out of 10 members), full members of the Academy and invited (10 members of the NAAS).
The Presidium of the Academy has put forward the following Agenda for today's General Meeting:
1. On the main tasks of the NGO "National Academy of Agrarian Sciences" (speaker E.I. Islamov - Acting First Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences);
2. On the preparation for the announcement of a competition to fill vacancies for full members (academicians), corresponding members and foreign members of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS) (speaker: member of the Presidium Moldashev A.B. - member of the Presidium);
3. On holding the NAAS General Meeting in April this year and the agenda of the General Meeting (T.I.Espolov - NAAS President);
4. Miscellaneous:
- Consideration of the NAAS Work Plan for the first half of this year;
- Consideration of the procedure for holding a competition for vacant NAAS positions;
- Approval of the heads of the NAAS regional centers;
- On the creation of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences.
Currently, the Academy works closely with government agencies, the Institute of Parliamentarism, industry associations, foreign National Academies and international organizations, etc. This will give a new impetus to the development of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences, has a positive effect on expanding the integration role of the Academy.
Speaking on the main tasks of the NGO "National Academy of Agrarian Sciences", Acting First Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences, Academician E.Islamov, focused on the conceptual tasks of the Academy, which the Presidium is working on. He drew attention to the need to strengthen integration ties with the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, specialized agricultural research institutes, regions and industry associations in the agro-industrial complex, to raise the consolidating role of the Academy as an organization uniting the intellectual potential of agricultural science, to intensify the Academy's participation in legislative processes through participation in expert groups to develop optimal proposals and additions to the National Science Act and related sectors of the economy of Kazakhstan. He made a report on the preparation of the Announcement of a competition to fill vacant positions in the National Academy of Sciences. He focused on new accents during the competition within the framework of the NAAS Charter. E.I. Islamov, Acting First Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences, spoke on the issues of the "Miscellaneous" section. All issues on the agenda were considered and discussed in detail, in accordance with the rules of procedure for meetings, all necessary issues were approved by the NAAS Presidium and taken into account.
