Initiator of the development of academic mobility among agricultural universities of the republic, head of international scientific programs and projects Tempus, Erasmus Mundus, Erasmus +.
The university has transitioned to three-level training of specialists: bachelor-master-doctor of PhD, credit technology of education has been introduced, systematic work is being carried out to achieve the world class level of education: the university has acquainted with and accessed the European education system, joined the Bologna Declaration and is a member of the European University Association.
The university, using international project management standards, together with 13 international experts from leading research centers and universities around the world, transformed into a national research university.
A model of a research university has been developed using the example of the Kazakh National Agrarian University, which is recommended for the system of higher and postgraduate education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as for leading agricultural universities in the CIS. Representatives of 20 universities visited the university and learned transformation system applied at KazNAU.
The university was one of the first in the country to become a non-profit joint stock company. Today, 28 universities working under the coordination of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, using the experience of KazNAIU, have transferred to a non-profit joint-stock company.
On October 23, 2020, by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the university was assigned a special “Research” status.
The Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNAIU) cooperates with 137 leading universities and research centers in the world, and is a member of 17 international associations and organizations for higher education and science.
The International Institute to work with KazNAIU was opened in 2019.

In 2018 and 2019, the university was ranked 651 in the QS ranking of the best universities in the world, in 2020 – 591 and in 2021 – 551. The goal is to become a world-class university with a QS-400 rating.
Member of the executive committee of the global consortium of agricultural universities and science GCHERA, chairman of the Council of Rectors of leading agricultural universities in the CIS, and was also chairman of the Council of Rectors of universities in the Almaty region.
Economic mechanisms for the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex and rural areas of the Republic of Kazakhstan have been developed, aimed at ensuring food security, increasing the efficiency of government support measures, developing the export potential of agro-industrial complex enterprises, the infrastructure of the agro-food market and rural areas.
Author of a series of scientific works in the field of sustainable water supply of natural and economic systems of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the context of national security":
– an analysis is given of the current state of use and protection of water resources in individual river basins of the country;
– an assessment of the natural resource potential of the republic and the direction of its use was carried out;
– the scientific and methodological basis for improving the scheme for the integrated use and protection of water resources in the river basin is given;
– the socio-ecological and economic efficiency of improving basin water regulation and water distribution schemes is given, taking into account possible options for the development of economic sectors in adjacent territories and in Kazakhstan.
More advanced models of reclamation equipment have been developed and put into production for the cleaning and operation of water supply systems (canals, trays, wells, shaft wells) of pastures and hayfields.
A scientific methodology has been developed for conducting a comprehensive analysis and assessment of the ecological, socio-economic environment, as well as the methodological basis for the new price zoning of land with the determination of standard prices for agricultural land.
The theoretical and methodological foundations for the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the conditions of integration into the world agricultural market have been developed.
A Concept has been developed for the formation of an effective market system in the agricultural sector, including mechanisms: the formation of large and medium-sized commercial farms in agriculture, the development of cooperation, and the creation of integrated associations (clusters).
An international model “Extension” has been developed at the University’s Higher School of Farmers, where consulting and educational services are provided to managers and workers of farms and other organizations.
An agrotechnological hub has been created at KazNAIU, which includes: the Kazakh-Japanese innovation center on food and environmental safety, the Kazakh-Korean innovation center, the Water Innovation Center, the Innovation Greenhouse, the center for sustainable development of agriculture, the innovative scientific and educational center created within the framework of SPIID-2 laboratory for microclonal propagation of plants, reference laboratory for milk and dairy products, Situation Center, Kazakhstan-Belarus Center for Agroengineering, equipped with modern instruments and equipment. 7 research institutes, 18 international centers created on the basis of real scientific projects, 31 research laboratories, the Minor Academy of Sciences, etc. have been created.
The University has created the International Research Center for Vaccinology, which, together with the National Scientific Center for Particularly Dangerous Infections named after. M. Aikimbaeva of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of foreign partners - Ohio State University (USA) and the biotechnology company Vaccine Pty Ltd (Australia), has developed a safe nanovaccine against coronavirus. The nanovaccine is included in the list of candidate vaccines of the World Health Organization.
67 candidates, 25 doctors of science and 7 PhD doctors were trained.
More than 500 scientific works have been published, including 12 monographs, 5 textbooks and 6 teaching aids, 15 scientific and practical recommendations, 40 copyright certificates and patents.
Together with scientists from the Institute of Geography, a monograph was published: “Water Resources of Kazakhstan: Assessment, Forecast, Management.” This is a unique scientific work in 30 volumes, which was published for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan and has no analogues in the CIS.
