AGRARIAN ACADEMY
About the Academy
National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NAAS) is a public coordinating center for agricultural science.
The Academy was founded in 1932 as the Kazakh branch of the All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences named after V.I.Lenin.
After the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1991, the Kazakh branch of the All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences named after V.I.Lenin department was reorganized into the Kazakh Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
NAAS services
The Academy, together with interested government agencies and organizations, conducts and coordinates:
scientific, educational and consulting services for rural producers
scientific, consulting and service support for the introduction of innovations, improving competencies in relevant areas of their activities:
economy, association of small business entities into agricultural cooperatives, storage, processing, sale of primary products and provision of services, development of seed production, breeding, protection and quarantine of plants, forestry, soil protection
the use of water-saving technologies, the introduction of intensive technology in the field of animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, the promotion of energy-resource-saving irrigation technologies and training
• Assistance in accelerating scientific and technological progress in the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• To become not only a self-sufficient country, but also an important player in the global production of agricultural products.
Tasks of the NAAS:
Identification of priority directions of scientific and technical development of the agro-industrial complex of the country, development of national projects, concepts, doctrines and strategic program documents based on interaction with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ministries, authorized bodies and public organizations in the field of science and personnel training in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Providing scientific and consulting support for scientific and investment projects of regions and business entities in the field of the agro-industrial complex of the country, the processing industry, agroengineering, the sphere of rational use and conservation of water, forest, soil resources.
Ensuring the sustainable development of biodiversity, biotechnology and breeding, ensuring animal health and food security of the country.
